Websites

My laptop has been broke for the past week, so this will be accurate for today, but not for my normal internet experiences.

I spent about half on hour (if that) on yahoo.com because that's where I go to check my e-mail. I basically only use it because that's what I used when I was younger, so I'm used to it. My mom was the one who set me up with yahoo a long time ago. I like it because it's pretty simple and they have some articles to click on that are pretty interesting. I don't like all the button on the side bar. Too many for me.

I spent probably about 15 minutes on robertmorris.edu so I can figure out my homework and to turn in some assignments. I don't like how the buttons at the top are so small. But I do like the fact that it is simple and easy to use.

On a normal day when I have a working laptop, nobody could possibly know the number of hours I would spend on facebook.com, but today I spent about.... 3 hours perhaps. I like the easy use of it, but it looks kind of boring.

I went to photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com to look at photoshop disasters. I like the banner at the top, and it's easy to use.

Basics Assignment 1

ADVANTAGES OF INTERNET

E-mail. You can use it to send files, pictures, and letters.

Information. You can find information on EVERYTHING.

Chat. If you have phone-aphobia, but still enjoy a nice conversation, and no one is around, you can chat! It's good for keeping up with people.

Social websites. It's like e-mail, but bigger. Facebook and Twitter are probably the most famous (infamous?) out there at the moment. Social websites let you stay in contact with your friends, family, associates, etc. It's great for sharing pictures and letting people know what you're doing at every single part of the day!

Shopping. Need a new DVD player, but can't find a good one where you live? No problem. Go to a store's website and view what they have, buy it, and they'll ship it to you. Need to sell an old iPod? You can sell that on the internet. Ebay is a popular one for that. Someone will buy your old iPod and you'll send it to them. Great thing about Ebay is the person buying your old iPod is the one who has to pay the shipping.

DISADVANTAGES OF THE INTERNET

Social Websites. Those creepy kids in high school who add you and talk to you all the time makes facebook much much less fun. Or the people who post things every half hour. (I admit, I update my facebook status a few times a day. But not every half hour.) Then there are those people in Brazil and the Philippines who try to add you as a friend, and they don't even speak English!

Information. Sometimes the information you get from the internet is completely false. Sometimes it's halfway true. You can't trust everything you read on it, so it's not reliable.

Porn. It's pretty easy to accidentally come across it. A lot of people don't want to see it.

Security. People can hack into websites. It's easy to find out personal information.

Waste. Sometimes you can spend a lot of time on the internet, looking up things, playing games. You can waste away your day.

Blogger

I'm still trying to figure this thing out! I can make posts, (obviously) but when I follow someone, I get lost! I'm following my art class 3 times with 3 different accounts. Why is it when I click the follow button it makes me put in my e-mail address? Why can't it just follow?!?! I don't want to follow with Yahoo or Google, I want to follow with BLOGGER. Am I just blogger retarded, or is it just what blogger does? (Either way, I'm blogger retarded for not knowing the answer!)
