Stationary set

Okay, so these uploaded backwards...

Anyways, the font that is on these is NOT the font I'm going to be using, it's just a placement font because the ones I am using are on a different computer. *grumble* Also, my logo hasn't been critiqued yet, so things might change after that's been critiqued.

I didn't give him a face because trying to make frankenstein look happy just didn't look right.

Typeface:The Movie

Located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin is a wood type museum. What's different about this museum is that it's in a factory, and nothing is behind glass windows, you can touch everything. It was really interesting to see how the "old" (the people in the movie said it, not me!) people made wood type. They would use a saw and cut the wood, and use another machine to cut out the letters, but they smoothed it out by hand. There were letters of every size and tons of different typefaces. They put a LOT of care into making the letters for the letter presses.
In the movie they showed a lot of letter pressing, it was really awesome to see how it was done, a lot more difficult than pushing buttons to tell the jet ink printer what to do. It would be really fun to be able to do letter pressing. (Let's get one for RMU!) It was really refreshing to see that some people still appreciate letter pressing, and people still use letter presses. It would be really nice to get away from the computers for a while and do some letter press printing.

Assignment ONE–Product and Company name

FrankenFashion is a company that makes plush monster dolls. The best part? You can dress them up. Inspired by the random (tired) thought of Frankenstein's monster wearing a pink tutu. Young girls can dress up Frankenstein's monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, Count Dracula, and the Wolf Man in various fashionable outfits.

What size–roughly 6-7 inches tall
Marketing–web, store, (toy)catalog
Company Qualities–customer friendly, good value, low cost
Talking to–Young girls
Competitors–Barbie, Bratz, Monster High
How am I going to beat the competition?–Probably with a chain saw or a bat. JK! By being way more awesome and having a very unique product. And by putting a picture of Frankenstein wearing a pink tutu on the box. :)

Onliness Statement–We are the ONLY company that offers plush monster dolls–made from natural materials–that can be dressed up.

Logo Ideas for FrankenFashion

Not sure which of these I like most, probably the purple circle ones though.

The Bride of Frankenstein

Frankenstein Monster in a tutu (it's this thought that made the idea of FrankenFashion pop into my head. It was 7:40 in the morning, and was über tired, okay?!)

Frankenstein Monster, Dracula, and Wolf Man, hanging out, being best pals.

All of these will be illustrated, of course. Simple illustrations, so they're not too busy. I think the last one might be too busy anyways. I dislike that one the most anyways.

History of Graphic Design

(Image 1-20 on page 13 in text book, I will post the picture on here later.)

Ancient Egyptian carvings show a beginning to graphic design. The ancient Egyptians were the first to combine words and images to tell a story. They also used color on their designs. Who would have thought that graphic design was that old?! I especially like this because I never thought of the ancient Egyptians as being graphic designers.
